5 Ways to start your 2021 glow up now

With 2021 fast approaching and another national lockdown pending, it's time to start your 2021 glow up now! Here are our top reasons on why and how to do so.
1. Look after your skin
Looking after your skin is always important, however, with having to spend the next month in doors, it is important to make sure you're still giving your skin the TLC it deserves. While our clinics may be closed, you can give yourself your own facial at home. If there has ever been a good time to invest in skincare, it's now! Identify you skin type and use products that will work best for you. You can read one of our other blogs on 'Choosing the correct morning routine for your skin type'! Drinking plenty water also helps keep your skin healthy and hydrated. 2 litres a day is the recommended amount.
2. Ditch the razor, get laser!
We all know the strain of choosing when is best to shave. Whether you're off on holiday or just want to get your legs out, shaving needs to be planned in advance. It's time to ditch the razor and say hello to laser! We are experts in laser hair removal, using the industry leading Cynosure Elite. It's to put a stop to shaving rashes and cuts, plus, laser hair removal is virtually pain free! If you are hesitant to book in for laser, we offer free consultations and patch tests, so you can feel at ease before purchasing a treatment. We currently have offers on our laser package deals, check them out at: https://skinhq.co.uk/treatment/laser-hair-removal/
3. Exercise for 30 minutes a day

As little as 30 minutes of exercise is all you need to feel physically and mentally better. If you're spending the next month in lockdown, it is important to keep yourself active. As well as exercise helping you feel physically stronger, it is scientifically proven that exercise can help lower your overall stress levels. Physical activity improves oxygen and blood flow which both have a direct effect on your brain, releasing endorphins.

4. Exercise your mind
Similar to exercise, looking after your mind is just as important as your mind. Take this lockdown to work on your mental health. Some other ways to exercise your mind are through learning something new, tying a new recipe or reading a book. Reading is a good way of keeping your mind active as well as having the opportunity to educate yourself. A glow-up includes your mind-set, not just your appearance!
5. Eat well

With the extra free time on your hands and with restaurants being shut, try teaching yourself the recipe for your favourite meal. If you're lacking inspo, there are thousands of free online recipes to choose from. This is a good way of keeping busy during lockdown, being productive and advancing your culinary skills. Health juices are also a lot of fun to make and taste so good they don't even taste healthy! With 2020 officially a write off, we may as well start getting ourselves prepared for summer 2021 now.
