CHOOSING THE CORRECT Morning Routine For YOUR Skin Type

Everyone has different skin and it is vital to know how to identify and look after your certain skin type. A morning skincare routine can be something a lot of us skip for those extra 10 minutes in bed. However, you should make your morning skincare routine a priority as it is just as important as your evening routine. Here are some quick and easy routines suitable for each skin types!

Dry Skin
  1. Cleanse using a gentle and hydrating cleanser/facewash. Make sure you are checking the label before purchasing a cleanser to make sure it is suitable for your skin type. Certain cleansers can be more mild than others which is crucial to look out for if your suffer from dry skin.
  2. Apply a serum such as a Hyaluronic Acid. Hyaluronic Acid is a type of molecule that is already found naturally in your skin. These molecules serve to absorb water and retain moisture in the skin by trapping water within tissue cells. A serum containing Vitamin B5 will also work well to enhance surface rehydration.
  3. Next, apply moisturiser. A pretty self-explanatory step for dry skin, however by applying a moisturiser while your face is still damp, will lock more moisture into the skin.
  4. Finally,  a pivotal step in looking after all skin types is to always apply your SPF. No matter what the weather condition, applying an SPF of factor 30+ is significant in reducing ageing. Oily Skin

  4. Follow on from toning with moisturising. A gel or water based moisturiser works well for oily skin as these are not too rich. Using a thick or oil based moisturiser will be too much for you skin and leave it feeling greasy.
  5. The final step in your routine should always be an SPF of factor 30+. For oily skin, a spray SPF will be good for you and it will feel nice and light on your skin.

Combination Skin

(Combination skin is characterised as having both oily and dry skin on different areas of your face.)

  2. Next, use a mild toner. Depending on how dry your skin is on certain areas of your face, consider applying toner to just your T-zone, as this tends to be where the majority of oil is produced.

  4. Then, use a light moisturiser all over your face.
