Laser is an acronym for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. During laser hair removal a beam of light is guided over the skin. The light energy is absorbed by areas of high pigment/melanin e.g. hairs, where it transfers as heat energy. The heat energy heats the hair and in the process damages the follicle, the follicle is then unable to grow new hairs.

What is Laser Hair Removal?
Laser is an acronym for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. During laser hair removal, a beam of light is carefully guided over the skin.
The light energy is absorbed by areas of high pigment/melanin, such as hairs, where it transfers as heat energy. This energy heats the hair and damages the follicle, which means it can no longer grow new hairs. Smooth skin, here we come.
Which technology do we use?
Here at SkinHQ, we only use the best. We use industry-leading Candela Gentle Max Pro & Cynosure Elite medical grade lasers. The Cynosure laser uses a dual wavelength system with a 755nm Alexandrite laser and high powered 1064 nm Nd: YAG laser.
Sounds technical? Don’t worry, our experts have it covered. This amazing piece of kit means we can target a whole range of different hair colours and skin types, delivering effective, safe hair reduction for everyone.
Where can you receive Laser Hair Removal?
Great news, you can have Laser Hair Removal wherever you need! We are one of the few clinics with a full body & face option- meaning we treat every area from the eyebrows down in one session. If you’ve got hair, SkinHQ can laser it.
Who is this treatment suitable for?
The Candela Gentle Max Pro & Cynosure Elite targets colour/pigment in the hair follicle, allowing us to treat a huge variety of skin tones. We’ve found the best results come from clients with darker hair. Those who may not qualify for treatment are those with red, grey or extremely light blonde hair.
We may not be able to treat you if you have any underlying medical conditions. A free skin consultation and patch test is required, where our highly trained laser specialists can assess whether the treatment is right for you.
